Purchase and refund

Who does what

Buyer. The person who asks to buy a listed name, make an offer, or start a rent-to-own plan.
Seller. The person who controls a name and asks to list it, or the party that controls one of the catalog names.
Marketplace. Sleekdomains. We show the names and take requests. We do not charge a card, hold the purchase money, or register the name.
Registrar. The company where the name is registered. The registrar is the one that can move a name between accounts. Sleekdomains is not the registrar.
Escrow provider. A separate company that can hold funds during a sale. Escrow.com is the provider we researched. It is not connected. When checkout uses escrow, the buyer pays the escrow fee on top of the listed price. This site does not hold funds, insure a transfer, or guarantee one.

What a request is

Buy now, make an offer, and rent-to-own send a request to the marketplace. A request is not a payment, not a completed purchase, and not a confirmation that the escrow provider received funds. Card checkout is not open. The marketplace replies by email to confirm the price and how payment will be arranged.

Refunds and cancellation

Refunds, cancellation, default, early payoff, and the moment ownership transfers are not written. Because this version does not take a card, there is also no card charge on the site to refund. Do not read this page as a refund promise.

Prices already published

Asking prices and 24-month rent-to-own prices are the listed prices. A completed sale pays a flat 5% seller commission, deducted from the seller's proceeds. A seller whose first listing is submitted on or before January 31, 2027 (America/New_York) pays 0% on sales completed within 6 months of that listing's approval date, then 5%. A seller whose first listing is submitted after that date pays 5%. The 0% window does not start until that first listing is approved. The seller commission on rent-to-own is 5% of the Buy Now price, not of the payment total. It is deducted from the payments as they come in until that commission is satisfied. How each payment is split is pending legal review. The payout target is within 5 business days after the buyer's payment clears and the registrar transfer is confirmed. This is a target, not a guarantee. The Sleekdomains rent-to-own buyer fee is 0%. Fees: buyer pays escrow and card processing fees. The escrow fee is 2.6% with a $50 minimum (Escrow.com), and a card payment adds 3.05% (Escrow.com). Both are on top of the listed price. The seller receives the listed price minus the Sleekdomains commission. Buyer escrow and card fees sit on top of the listed price. Escrow is not connected, and this is not a guarantee. Card processing, about 2.9% + 30¢ per payment via Stripe, is added to each monthly payment. The listed monthly price does not include it. The amount is shown before the buyer agrees. A request does not charge a card. Offers under a private minimum on a catalog name are declined without revealing the number.
